Checking-in took forever because both the ancient computers where broken. Payment had to take place in two instances without logica explanation. This is not really putting the guest first.

Very well located in a nice clean street.
Would lose the palms at the front door though as they make the hotel look less appealing (only my opinion!!)

We had a London Break and spent3 nights at the Lancaster. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The continental breakfasts were good and service, punctual & polite. We were upgraded and we felt really welcome and comfortable. We love the location of these Grange hotels.

This is a small hotel on a quiet street located very close to the British Museum and the Holborn Tube stop--very convenient for seeing the sights. The rooms are small and, unbeknownst to us when we made the reservation, we ended up in a room below street level with a view of the trash bins. Also, the front desk, while very polite, were not experienced in dealing with touristy questions. The breakfast items were plentiful but not special in any way--canned fruit and very ordinary bread and pastries. Having said all this, I would stay there again primarily for the location.
